Bitcoins will be able to pay for passport issuance in the USA

American company Peninsula Visa has announced that it will start accepting payments in bitcoins for passport issuance services, name change, etc., which will promote the use of bitcoins in passport and visa services in the USA.

The Coinbase Coinbase Commerce payment unit has been selected as a secure processor for these transactions.

Evan James, Chief Operating Officer of Peninsula Visa, commented on this event:

„No one has ever been able to pay for a US passport in digital currency before. We are very pleased to be the first company in the country to offer this alternative payment method to our esteemed customers. As COVID has changed our world, which Bitcoin Code we believe is becoming more digital than ever before, we offer bitcoin payments to travellers. It seems to us that this is the right step at the right time“.

According to the official statement, customers will be able to take advantage of the following services (they are scheduled to be deployed within the next 12 months):

passport extension;
name change;
obtaining and renewal of a second passport.
This year, interest in the leading cryptographic currency has risen to a level that was not seen during the 2017 bullish rally, when the BTC price approached $20,000.

Earlier, the D.C. Bar Association informed its members about the possibility of paying for court costs with the help of cryptocurrency.
